Moving to a new city can be a whole lot easier when you're plugged in to the local Duke community. Our Welcome to the City party is an exciting opportunity to meet fellow Duke alumni and learn about all that is happening here!
We hope you will join us on Tuesday, September 29 at our Welcome to the City party to celebrate Duke, build some new relationships, reconnect with friends, and meet your regional leaders who can help answer your questions about ways to be engaged in the region and beyond.
Support our Local Community
Duke DC is proud to support the Capital Area Food Bank, which leads the region’s efforts to provide equitable access to food for people struggling with hunger and food insecurity. Each year, the organization sources and distributes the food for more than 60 million meals.
How you can help
Guests attending Welcome to the City are invited to bring a food donation to the event. A wish list of needed items can be found here. Please consider bringing 1-2 items per your availability. Collection bins will be provided, and volunteers will deliver the items to Capital Area Food Bank following the event.
