Duke Divinity School invites ministry professionals of all traditions to refill their spiritual wells through self-directed study, worship, and prayer on the beautiful Duke University campus.

Eligibility and Tuition Rates

Full tuition for the five days is $750 - Applies to those who are not appointed clergy of the United Methodist Church in North Carolina. Please select Registration Type: "Full Tuition" below. If you do not need hotel accommodations, please select "Local Resident" to pay a reduced rate of $250.


Scholarships of $600 (bringing the cost to $150 for the five days) are available for the following individuals:

  • Appointed clergy (elder, deacon, or licensed local pastor) serving rural United Methodist Churches in North Carolina are eligible for scholarships thanks to the generosity of The Duke Endowment. Please select Registration Type: "Scholarship" below.
  • Appointed clergy (elder, deacon, or licensed local pastor) serving churches in the Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church are eligible for scholarships thanks to the generosity of The Parish Ministry Fund. Please select Registration Type: "Scholarship" below.

Additional night stays for a one day early arrival or late departure are available for an additional fee and can be selected during this registration process.

Everyone planning to attend the 2026-2027 Study Leave for Ministry Professionals program should submit a registration form in advance with the appropriate fees. Registrations will be confirmed by email and will include additional event information.

Session selections close 6 weeks prior to the start date. Sessions are limited to 12 participants. A wait list option can be selected if the session you prefer is full.

Cancellation Policy: We recognize that your plans may change. We do accept cancellations and will work with you regarding your specific needs. Please understand, however, that $150 is not refundable.
